7 Days Myanmar
(Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay - Amarapura - Sagaing - Mandalay - Heho - Kaung Dine - Inle Lake - Pindaya - Heho - Yangon)
DAY 1: YANGON/ Arrival Day
"MINGALAR BA" - "have an auspicious day" - are the first words you will hear from our local tour guide. Among the many interesting places in the Golden City, the magical Shwedagon Pagoda will be on top of your sightseeing list.
DAY 2: YANGON - BAGAN
Paradize for early morning birds! 7 am flight to Bagan which will bring you back into the 11th century! 1,000 pagodas in the morning, 1,000 pagodas in the afternoon...Ananda, Shwezigon, Thatbinnyu and, and, and....No time for lacquer-ware shopping? Of course - shop till you drop!
DAY 3: BAGAN - MANDALAY - MINGUN - MANDALAY
8.40 am flight to the city of last Myanmar Kings. Have a one hour boat ride on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River and share your merits by striking the largest ringing bell in the world – the Mingun Bell. Back to Mandalay, the most famous pagoda - the Mahamuni Pagoda, the world's largest book - the Kuthodaw Pagoda and sunset on Mandalay Hill will make you wish to spend another wonderful day in Mandalay.
DAY 4: MANDALAY - AMARAPURA - SAGAING - MANDALAY
Breathe the unpolluted air on the wooden U Bein Bridge in Amarapura and visit the famous hand weavers: How exiting to watch the skill of the threads being tied! Continuing to Sagaing Hills: "From the hills which are studded with white and golden pagodas, from the hills looking lazy at the Irrawaddy River, a girl is sitting near the river, I know she is thinking of me." Maybe from the Son Oo Ponyashin Pagoda you may see Kipling's girl - for sure you will have the most breathtaking views of Mandalay and the Ayeyarwaddy River!
DAY 5: MANDALAY
- HEHO - NYAUNG SHWE - INLE LAKE
Air Mandalay will take you to Shan State - some call it "Switzerland
of Myanmar" (?). Don't forget your sun lotion! In a long-tailed
Sampa on the Inle Lake, rimmed by blue mountains, you will see that
life here still follows ancient, traditional patterns. Floating
gardens, one leg-rowers, villages on stilts and, all around, the
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, wonderful monasteries, and the reflection of the
cotton wool clouds - that's just magic!
DAY 6: INLE LAKE - PINDAYA - HEHO - YANGON
A visit of the Pindaya caves, hosting more than 8,000 Buddhas will compensate you for the three and half hour ride on a bumpy road! In the afternoon Air Mandalay will bring you back to the 21st century.
DAY 7: YANGON - Departure Day
There is still enough time for wandering around the Bogyoke Market and find some souvenirs for the unlucky ones who could not join your wonderful trip!
