DAY 1: YANGON - BAGO - MAWLAMYINE
Drive to Mawlamyine at the river
banks of Sanlwen River, leaving behind the modern city. Sing the song
"Country Road", as you will drive on rough roads...
Enjoy your trip while visiting in Bago the tallest pagoda in the
world. Two
suspension bridges on the way remind you on "The Bridge On the
River Quay"...watch the sunset from the hills to make sure what
Kipling said!
DAY 2: MAWLAMYINE - KYAIKMARAW -
MAWLAMYINE
The road to Kyaikmaraw, flanked by toddy
palm trees, will make your heart beat faster. What about a photo stop?
At Kyaikami, where Judson, an American Priest, arrived in 1825, some may
do some meditating at the Kyaikami Pagoda and then, of course, some
shopping at the colourful local "souvenir shop"... Don't
forget to come back to Mawlamyine!
DAY 3: MAWLAMYINE - PHA AN
Fresh and full of joy you
start in the morning your 2 1/2 hrs trip to Pha An. In this area
you have to be a strict vegetarian. The marets are full of vegetables,
fruits and flowers - be aware that
your local guide might buy loads of
Durians, the "King of Fruits"...anyhow, try to at least
enjoy the sunset from Mt. Zwekabin!
DAY 4: PHA AN - GOLDEN ROCK (KYAIKTHIYO)
Today, you are on the way to
visit one of the many wonders of Myanmar. Don't
forget to pray for getting rich - BUT there is something to be
remembered: You have to climb up to
this holy place for 3 times
to become a millionaire!
DAY 5: GOLDEN ROCK (KYAIKTHIYO) -
YANGON
Sad but true - its time to return to Yangon. The enjoyable excursions
are in the past now and tomorrow you will be in the 'real life' again...
