DAY 1: YANGON/ARRIVAL
"MINGALAR BA" – "have an auspicious day" – are the first words you
will hear from our local tour guide. Welcome and transfer to hotel.
In case of morning arrival, free at your own leisure.
DAY 2: YANGON - BAGAN
Paradise for early morning birds! Flight to Bagan which will
bring you back into the 11th century! 1,000 pagodas in the morning,
1,000 pagodas in the afternoon… Ananda, Shwezigon, Thatbinnyu and,
and, and…No time for lacquer ware shopping? Of course-shop till you drop!
DAY 3: BAGAN - MT.
POPA - BAGAN
En route to Mt. Popa you will visit some villages and watch the collection of juice from palm trees and its conversion into palm sugar. Rising out of the shimmering heat, the solitary volcanic crag of Mt. Popa is home to Myanmar’s most powerful “nats”.
DAY 4: BAGAN - MANDALAY - SAGAING - AMARAPURA - MANDALAY
Flight to the city of last Myanmar Kings. A visit to Sagaing, starts the sightseeing with Sagaing Hill: "From the hill which are studded with white and golden pagodas, from the hill looking lazy at the Irrawaddy River, a girl is sitting near the river, I know she is thinking of me". Maybe from the Son Oo Ponyashin Pagoda you may see Kipling's girl – for sure you will have the most breathtaking views of Mandalay and the Ayeyarwaddy River! Afternoon visit Amarapura, breathe the unpolluted air on the wooden U Bein Bridge in Amarapura and visit the famous hand weavers: How exiting to watch the skill of the threads being tied!
DAY 5: MANDALAY - MINGUN - MANDALAY
Have a one hour boat ride on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River and share your merits by striking the largest ringing bell in the world – the Mingun Bell. Back to Mandalay, the most famous pagoda – the Mahamuni Pagoda, the world’s largest book – the Kuthodaw Pagoda and sunset on Mandalay Hill will make you wish to spend another woderful day in Mandalay.
DAY 6: MANDALAY - HEHO - NYAUNG SHWE - INLE LAKE
Air Mandalay will take you to Shan State - some call it "Switzerland
of Myanmar" (?). Don't forget your sun lotion! In a long-tailed
Sampa on the Inle Lake, rimmed by blue mountains, you will see that
life here still follows ancient, traditional patterns. Floating
gardens, one leg-rowers, villages on stilts and, all around, the
Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, wonderful monasteries, and the reflection of
the cotton wool clouds - that's just magic!
DAY 7: INLE
LAKE - YANGON
The flight will bring you back to Yangon, leaving the tranquility behind you. Sightseeing to Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda, Karaweik Hall and sunset you will find your rest at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the highlight of your wonderful journey.
DAY 8: YANGON/ Departure
Day
A visit to the outstanding National Museum with its ornate treasures will give you the impression that you haven’t seen enough. There is still enough time for wandering around the Bogyoke Market and find some souvenirs for the unlucky ones who could not join your wonderful trip! |

DAY 2: YANGON
A visit of Yangon, take the City Circle Train and see rural areas, ways of life of the people. Back to the modern city of Yangon. Busy street scenes dominate the city. Then drive to Mawtin Jetty and take a rickshaw.
DAY 3: YANGON - BAGAN
Today take the flight to Bagan. Enjoy the whole day at the most extensive archaeological site in Asia. Among the 2000 temples you will see Ananda, Shwezigon, Thatbinnyu, and, and, and…Some you can walk to, others are best visited by bicycle or pony cart. Walking, bicycle or pony cart riding – finally now you will know that you must go barefooted in all pagodas.
DAY 4: BAGAN - POPA - BAGAN

DAY 5: BAGAN - PAKOKKU - MONYWA
Have a lovely day driving along the country roads. In route stop at villages and everywhere people delighted to have their pictures taken! On arrival at Pakokku, a bustling tobacco trading centre, also visit to some houses where they are making papier-mache. In Yesagyo, you can also see some home industries of incense stick.
DAY 6: MONYWA - PHOEWINTAUNG - MONYWA
Travelling to the center of Chindwin Valley, which is worth a visit. Attributes start here with more, most, bigger, largest…500,000 Buddha images, 806 stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures, 1,000 Banyan trees and the largest Reclining Buddha…Afternoon excursion to the Pho-win Daung caves situated in the Hpo Win Hills.
DAY 7:MONYWA - SAGAING - AMARAPURA - MANDALAY
A visit to Sagaing, starts the

DAYS 8:MANDALAY - MINGUN - MANDALAY
"Men may come and men may go,
but I flow on forever"… the Ayeyarwaddy is humming. Don't ask why
the king didn't finish the biggest temple in the world, the
Pahtodawgyi Pagoda, just be happy to see the world's largest ringing
bell! In the afternoon don't miss the 729 stone slabs of the
Kuthodaw Pagoda with the entire Buddhist scriptures. The climb
upwards the 1729 steps to Mandalay Hill will reward you with a firm
and sound sleep.
DAY 9:MANDALAY - MAYMYO - MANDALAY
Maymyo, a former British
hill station. Be a butterfly today and explore to the flower bed in
Maymyo National Botanical Garden,
Peik Chin Myaung cave. On the way back to Mandalay see the local
flower market.
DAY 10: MANDALAY - HEHO - PINDAYA
Flight to Shan State, some call it "Switzerland of Myanmar" (?)… Two hours drive from Heho,
a charming village with its paper umbrella cottage industry. Visit
of the Pindaya Caves, hosting more than 8,000 Buddhas.
DAY 11: PINDAYA -
INLE LAKE
Morning back to Nyaung Shwe,
will compensate you for the one and a half hours ride on a bumpy road!
In late afternoon you will arrive by car at the sleepy village of Nyaung Shwe. The old palace of the last Shan prince, who was Myanmar's first president, will bring
you back to the times of the old Burma. Don't forget your sun lotion!
Excursion in a long-tailed sampa on the Inle Lake, rimmed by blue
mountains, will show you that life here still follows ancient,

DAY 12: INLE
LAKE - INDEIN - INLE LAKE
Today you will learn a lot
about in Lake, visit one of the colorful market in Inle Lake Area.
Visit to Indein, ancient Bagan + Shan style pagodas.
DAY 13: INLE LAKE
- HEHO - YANGON
The flight will bring you back
to Yangon, leaving the tranquility behind you. Sightseeing to
Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda, Karaweik Hall and sunset you will find your rest at
the Shwedagon Pagoda, the highlight of your wonderful journey.
DAY 14: YANGON - BAGO - YANGON
A visit to Bago, see Shwe Nyaung
Pin Nat Shrine. Dream of the world's highest "Shoemadoo" (Shwemadaw
Pagoda), but the massive Shwetalayaung Buddha might show you the way to
Nirvana.
DAY 15: YANGON - DEPARTURE DAY
A visit to the outstanding National Museum with its ornate treasures will give you the impression that you haven't seen enough. Well – always welcome again . |
